This week has been a very exhausting week! But... it was a lot of fun as well. Some of my co-workers and I took part in an event that Best Buy has each year for their top performing store managers and this year it was held in San Francisco. The always plan out really great events centered around a learning theme with photography, video and this year they had GPS involved as well. We spent time with the Best Buy people on an on-going photo scavenger hunt throughout the entire city. The clues were made to keep you on the go and to see pretty much everything you’d want to see in SF. I’ve been to SF quite a few times but we ventured into neighborhoods that I had never been to before as well as some of the more traditional tourist areas as well.
So here are some of my images from the week. One thing that I found happening was that I was getting so wrapped up in the scavenger hunt clues that I wasn’t really concentrating on the photography as much as I should have. So, it was a challenge to balance the two so I could get pictures for the items we needed to find as well as making some images that I’m happy with.
The people that put this together for Best Buy are from a company called Blue Pixel. I know them well because they are also the same people that teach Nikon School. Nick Didlick from Blue Pixel needed to borrow my D700 camera to take a group shot last night so he loaned me a D80 camera that he had converted to shoot infrared black and white images. That’s what I shot the Alcatraz image at the top of the page here with. That was a new experience and it was fun to shoot with. So, any of the black and white images here are from that converted D80 camera. The rest are from my D700.

One of our trips was to the USS Hornet for a dinner and some shooting. They had some people dressed up in WWII style clothes and they were part of some of our photo experiments.
I love the slobber marks on the car window!
These flowers were taken with the 10.5mm fisheye lens.
