Alaskan Cruise - Leaving Seattle
Monday, September 15, 2008
Whew! It feels good to be on vacation! Michelle and I are on our first cruise... an Alaskan one to boot. We met up in the Seattle and had fun walking around the town on Saturday. We ended up at the Pike’s Place Market and the Seattle Space Needle as well. I haven’t been to Seattle in many years and Michelle had never been there. It’s a really cool city to visit and we’ll have to return with some friends someday. The weather was just incredible... 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky! It sure was good for the Seahawks/49ers game that day!
After we sailed out of sight of Seattle through the Puget Sound the light was just incredible. All day the Norwegian Pearl was either sailing either next to us or just behind us. We headed back to our cabin for a few minutes and I looked out over the balcony and saw the full moon coming close to the Norwegian Pearl and so I figured I’d wait a few minutes to see what happens... Well, that sure did work out! The light was perfect and the composition was just happening right in front of me. The next image says it all...
After the nice calm waters of the Puget Sound... thank goodness for our sea-sick patches! The night time cruise to Glacier Bay was a rock and roller! I have nothing to compare it to so it may have been nothing to most but when you walk down the hall and have to hold on the handrails so you don’t bounce around I think the “patch” is a huge help! We definitely got used to it after awhile...
