Lake Effect - Part II
Friday, January 16, 2009
To add another short story about what it’s like to live in NW Indiana... all I have to say is... SEND ME BACK TO PHOENIX!!! It was a bit of a contrast from the 71 degree, no humidity, no clouds in the sky days that Arizona had to offer. But, of course this is January and I remember when I lived in Orlando that I loved January but couldn’t stand August. So, I’m sure it’s the same in Phoenix. But still, we are having one heck of a winter so far. This afternoon at 2pm it was negative 4 outside without the wind... Here’s what it was like yesterday. (My other Lake Effect post is here)
Here you can see how the lake effect snow comes straight down Lake Michigan so it can be a blizzard at home and sunny in Chicago. Then the resulting amount is what’s on the stairs to my deck on on my deck itself. As you can see I brought a tape measure out and it read 18 inches. That was what we got from Saturday to Thursday.
Negative 13 last night was cold... and these were taken with a Coolpix S710 camera.
Until next time... stay warm!
