One of the tasks that NPS had there was to help set up remote cameras around the court. My friend and co-worker, Mark Suban, has a very cool wireless shooting setup that involves a Mac Mini, various WiFi units getting images from Nikon cameras with the Nikon WT-4 wireless transmitter. It’s a pretty involved setup and we wanted to test it out for future uses at events. It worked really well with both of us shooting to it at the same time. Gotta love technology... So, here are some pictures of our wireless setup and some of the various remote cameras that were in place before the game started...

That’s me on the left... had to have the “souvenir shot”! On the right is Mark Suban from Nikon and John McDonough from Sports Illustrated (right).

After we got everything set up and working the crowd came in and the games started. Here are some pictures from the rest of the evening. Shooting basketball from off the court with a long lens is really difficult. It certainly isn’t my strong suit! So, if you followed the Final Four and you like college basketball then hopefully you’ll see something in the images below that you’ll enjoy...

This is Mark’s wireless rig below...

This next shot was the moment the clock ran out and Michigan State won the game.

So, that’s it from Detroit “Rock City”! If you are a North Carolina fan... Congratulations! It was a quick trip but a trip full of learning and it was fun, too.

And, I got to see where GM has spent their money! ;-)

Be sure to tune into D-Town TV this week... Yours truly might just show up on there!

Until next time...
