Recently I was asked to do a Travel Photography class and a hands-on flash workshop for Photo Education Week at Inkley’s Photo in Salt Lake City, Utah. My travel schedule got me in the day before so I took the opportunity to take a short side trip to Park City. I have been to this town quite a few times and it is a great place. This time of year it’s very quiet there and sort of lacks the excitement of being there in the winter or when the fall colors are out.
So, if you have been reading my blog for any length of time you know that I like to find a good pub or microbrew to pay a visit to. At the top of Main Street there is a well known and locally controversial brewery called The Wasatch Brewing Company. They have some great stuff and some rather clever names for their beers.
The last two, Polygamy Porter (the fine print says... “Bring some home for the wives”) and Superior Ale, were my favorites... actually the only two I had as well. ;-)
The ski slopes actually had a bit of snow left on them which was amazing. I can just imagine what the snow base was this year for it to be around so long. I liked the snowboarding half pipe and how it looked... interesting.
Of course there is another great microbrew in downtown Salt Lake City called Redrock. Every time I travel to SLC I make it a point to visit this restaurant and get a t-shirt. It has sort of become a tradition and I have a good collection of Redrock shirts now in various stages of decay! I like this place and thought I’d share it with you...
I’ll post some pictures from the Photo Education Week event in a separate entry. This one would get too long if I did it here.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the classes and made them a lot of fun. I know they were fun for me, I sure hope they were fun for you, too!
